About Tharston Family Tree
Tharston, being a relatively small village in a rural setting, had many of the families linked to others in the same village or very close by. It was these relationships which started the idea of creating the 'Tharston Family Tree'.
The starting point for this tree were the individual inhabitants of Tharston who had one or more entries in Parish Records, Census Returns, Electoral Rolls, and several other data sets.
All the information found had to be arranged and collated so that it was ordered, readable and searchable. The genealogy program
Family Historian
, used by the author for his own family research, was the receptacle for all the information. This has a feature to turn the information into webpages, those seen on this website.
Some of the named people in the tree that are not from the Tharston lists but they are all related to someone from them in some way. It is impossible to ignore others, sons, daughters, spouses, etc., for without them the tree would appear extremely sparce and meaningless. Without the additional people there would also be far fewer links between families.
As with any research, the information found may have been open to individual interpretation and accuracy (3 a.m. may not be the best time for research!) and if anyone finds any errors or can add any information they are willing to share, please make
contact
. Also, if anyone has photos of anyone baptised, married or buried in Tharston, even those which have happened relatively recently, will be welcomed.
This will be a never ending project. Information on those already listed is added when it arrives and new people added as research continues. Please revisit the site to see what is currently included.
Several people have already helped with the information contained within this tree and I thank them all for it, as I'm sure others who make use of this will also do so.
