SOUTH LOPHAM. SAD SUICIDE. - On Friday last an old man named George Wallis, aged 62 years, committed suicide in a turnip house on Mr. Henry Holden’s farm at South Lopham. The deceased had been ailing for some time past and was very dejected. He fastened a strap to the turnip cutter, and put in his head and hung himself. An inquest was held on Saturday by Mr. R. H. Wilson, Deputy-Coroner, and a verdict “That deceased committed suicide whilst in an unsound state of mind” was returned. |
