Newspaper:Summary of several reports: On 27 Feb 1925 an Avro 504K of 99 (bombing) Squadron RAF, registration H3083, crashed on approach to RAF Bircham Newton. The crew was completing a local training mission and on the landing approach, the aircraft entered a dive and crashed. There were two crew members on board; Pilot Officer Cecil Stanley Marshall Woode (pilot, aged 20) was killed, AC1 Ernest Forrester (Service Number 253189) was seriously injured. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair,
