| Military: | Walter (name given as JOLLEY W B) enlisted on 24.11.1915, joining the 5th Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment, Private 5871, on 18.03.1916. He served on home soil from 24.11.1915, with the Middle East Force from 08.09.1916, en route home starting on 19.10.1918, and serving at home until 20.02.1919. Walter was transferred to Class “Z” Army Reserve on demobilisation on 20.02.1919. At some point he contracted malaria and on demob was deemed to have a 10% disability and granted a pension of 5/6 per week for a year. He is on the 1918 absent voters list for North Lopham - 3923: Bussey, Jolly Walter: Green: 26th Middlesex. |
